Lead IT Engineer

Location: Bleiswijk (HQ)

Salary: from €5000,00 to €5250,00 gross per month based on a fulltime contract

 

 

Role purpose
Responsible for the overall management of digital and IT services that Toolstation owns and from 3rd parties, provided to its end users, whether as Toolstation colleagues or customers. You will manage support and develop the Engineering team whilst overseeing the development and implementation of new services and the maintenance of existing services. You will ensure knowledge is shared and retained within the organisation to enable the team to critically evaluate the service provided and ensure a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the service that is delivered meets business needs and priorities, which enables the achievement of business and functional objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all users and customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate, professional manner;
  • Manage resources internally to facilitate new and in-flight IT services, using established project management techniques;
  • Produce and manage reporting including data and statistics to facilitate effective service monitoring and performance;
  • Identify opportunities for continual service improvement and execute plans to improve;
  • Accurately record, update and document incidents, requests and changes to services using tools such as the IT Service Desk system, Configuration Management Database and Knowledge Bases; 
  • Develop and manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers of services, software, hardware and warranties; 
  • Occasional travel to sites in the UK and Europe may be required. 


Required skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and documentation techniques. Strong presentation skills; 
  • Proficient in both English and Dutch, fluent in spoken and written communication;
  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy;
  • Previous work in IT operations or a senior support role; 
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, various vendor OS including Google Chrome OS, Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS; 
  • Business productivity suites to include Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365;
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies;
  • Knowledge and understanding of ITSM and ITIL processes and principles.

What Toolstation offers:

  • An employment contract of 40 hours per week, starting with a one-year contract, with prospects for a permanent position;
